Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo how about you, you, you... January

So I mentioned previously we got a Zoo membership from John's brother Tommy for Christmas. We went to the Zoo twice in January. Grandpa Hughes joined us for our first trip.

Playing on the Rino statue

Watching a Tiger sleep

Giraffes!!!

Katie and a Giraffe,
it's hard to get that kid to look at me when I'm taking a picture!

Katie seeing how tall she is compared to a gorilla

John comparing his hand to the size of an adult male gorilla

Abi is the same height as a juvenile gorilla
The Second time we went to the zoo they had a cats and cocoa event. They had a Tiger training demonstration, free hot cocoa and a craft. It was a lot of fun despite the rain and a bit of snow. We of course took time to see other animals too.
Rino!

Abi watching rinos!

Colorful BIRDS!!!

Tortoise, they are so big and slow moving but fun to watch!

Bats (and my camera flash)

TIGER TRAINING!!! It was very cool to see the trainer get the tiger to do things like show his paws or stand on his hind legs so she could check him out and make sure he is healthy. He got nice chunks of red meat as treats. Every one would ooo and ahh as when he was standing all the way up. It was AWESOME!

 Giraffes Again!!!

See its nearly impossible to get that child to look at a camera!

The gorilla is asleep under that sheet. When we first saw him we thought it looked like a
homeless person sleeping at the zoo.
I think standing by this sign will be something we have to do every time we go to the zoo!

Heres the girls with their craft they made, its a pine cone bird feeder!
We hung them and all the bird seed was gone in a couple weeks!

I seriously LOVE the zoo! I need to think about getting a membership because that would be awesome :). Tim's and my most favorite time to go to the zoo is in the winter. The animals are so much more active, and there's hardly anyone there! It seems like they do all sorts of fun activities too which you've helped me to discover! Cute birdfeeders! What a fun craft :). Cute girlies too...but you know how cute I think your little ones are :)
