Easter!!!

Easter is my favorite holiday. Growing up we would head down to Scipio get our baskets out of Grandmas basement to join in the town easter egg hunt Saturday morning. Then we would go to the gap for a picnic and family easter egg hunt with our cousins. Sunday we would wake up and have all sorts of goodies in our baskets and we would go to church with the girls in their new easter dresses.
Now that we are older and with us all having our own families it isn't so easy to get everyone together in Scipio but all my sibling and their kids came to my parents for an easter egg hunt and dinner on Saturday.

Here are all the grandkids after the hunt.
The grandkids tearing into their candy and watching Enchanted.

On Sunday Katie got her first visit from the easter bunny. We attended church, and then spent the afternoon at John's parents.

The contents of her basket. Of course the candy isn't for the little lady mom will take care of that.

Poor Girl

Katie had her four month immunizations yesterday. I can't watch when they give them to her lucky for me John was able to get off work early and come to her appointment. He could comfort Katie when she got her shots and then after the shots were over I held and loved her. I wish it wasn't so painful, hearing her scream is horrible. Today she has a fever from the shots but is in a fairly good mood otherwise. Every month we get a picture of her on the same day so we can see her develop as we look through the pictures. Here is her four month picture, she is holding her little pink teddy bear.

Families are Forever

Yesterday at during sacrament meeting our closing hymn was Families can be Together Forever
Here are the Lyrics

Families Can Be Together Forever

I have a fam-'ly here on earth. They are so good to me.
I want to share my life with them through all e-ter-ni-ty.
Fam'lies can be to-geth-er for-ev-er Through Heav'n-ly fa-ther's plan.
I al-ways want to be with my own fam-i-ly, And the Lord has shown me how I can.
The Lord has shown me how I can.

While I am in my early years, I'll pre-pare most care-ful-ly. So I can mar-ry in God's Tem-ple for e-ter-ni-ty. Fam'lies can be to-geth-er for-ev-er Through Heav'n-ly fa-ther's plan. I al-ways want to be with my own fam-i-ly, And the Lord has shown me how I can.
The Lord has shown me how I can.

It touched me as this was the first time I'd sang the song since becoming a mom and possibly the first time since I've been married. What a beautiful and simple song it has always made me feel sentimental even when I was a primary child. How lucky we are as a family to have the Gospel in our lives and to know that families are meant to be eternal. John and I were married but more importantly sealed in the Salt Lake Temple just over two years ago. I'm so grateful for my eternal family.

I was just thinking...

So far this blog really has been all about our little lady Katie and while it will continue to mostly be so I wanted to also give you a taste of John and my self and what we do. While John goes to work Monday through Friday, for the most part there are exceptions, and makes the money to buy the bacon(yum bacon!) I am a home maker. How grateful I am to be at home with Katie every day and watch her do all sorts of new cute things. John is a good husband who most days sacrifices his sanity at his job to support us and allow me to stay home. This is what I've always wanted to be a mom at home and John makes that possible. That doesn't mean I wouldn't mind getting out more than I do, some days it seems like I don't know what sun light is. I'm very excited for warmer weather, Katie and I will spend a lot more time out in the yard, at the park, and going for walks & hikes. When I do have a spare moment (which next to never happens) not taking care of Katie, cleaning, or doing laundry I enjoy reading (currently I'm borrowing The Complete Sherlock Holmes from Johns Brother Bobby), knitting(though I'm not very good) , and sewing.

Well now for more Katie stuff Wednesday she rolled over from back to front and is quite good at it except her arm gets stuck. Here's a video of it i apologize it's a bit long and we don't have software to edit video. You are welcome to fast forward.

Here is a cute picture once she's on her tummy.

Katie walking with Daddy.

Katie walking with Daddy on her 3 month birthday. I love watching her little legs move!

Katie Today!

And here is our little lady Katie today, playing on her play mat with daddy!

Brand New Katie!

This picture was taken the day Katie was born at the Hospital.

Our little Katie

It is amazing how different Katie is today than she was back in November. She likes to be upright and see the world now, either sitting on our laps or standing. John likes to help her walk all over the place while he counts the steps. Today she went from the living room all the way down the hall to the TV room to see Grandma Nolan. 60 steps! She also has rolled over from her tummy to her back although she won't show dad yet.

Our AMAZING new blog!

Welcome to our state of the art, high-fangled, shiny, new-blog-smell, fully loaded, double stuffed, and totally original blog. This will most likely be an outlet for our new found parental pride in our, currently, 3 month old daughter Katie; with the occasional tidbit about family, friends, and camping. Part of our hope is to be able to share news, pictures, and videos with family and friends that live far far away.
