Random January 2012 Pictures

Matching girls!

Matching girls watching a show.

Abi being Mrs. Potato head.

Such a cute potato head. (Also what our living room, looks like daily.
We pick up most nights and then it looks like this again by 9am)

A flower for me? Thank you Potato head Abi!

We went to Chick-Fil-A and a big cow came out and walked around for a bit.
My girls were a bit weary of him. I thought it was kinda funny.

Katie learned to write her name in January. I've been working with her for a while and  I guess the K was intimidating but she got over it and can write her name quite well now!

Abi drew her first smiley face on the crayon dry erase board she got for Christmas!!! (Thanks Aunt Aileen!)

We got a paint with water book from Johns grandma. My girls love it! Here are some of their pictures.

Yay for a party!

My girls always love a party and their friend Liam's 2nd birthday was no different. It was a cute Sesame Street themed party. The kids played games and earned money that they got to redeem at a little store for fun prizes. I think the favorite game was looking for rubber duckies in Ernie's balloon bath. It was fun for adults too! They had great food and better company!

Static-y Birthday Boy.
Anmy, Me, Kristin
Liam, Isaac, Asher. Such fun boys!!!

The birthday boy's maternal grandparents.

My girls!!! Katie is holding some of her money.
John, Enoch, and Skip.  Funny guys!

Kristin being her awesome self and finishing up the decorating of the awesome cake.
The awesome cake & cupcakes. So cute!!!

Candles lit, sorry no picture of Liam blowing them out,
I was busy making sure my girls didn't grab cupcakes off the stand before the song was over.

The party was so fun it tuckered the girls out!

Happy Birthday Liam!!!

Going to the Zoo, Zoo, Zoo how about you, you, you... January

So I mentioned previously we got a Zoo membership from John's brother Tommy for Christmas. We went to the Zoo twice in January. Grandpa Hughes joined us for our first trip.

Playing on the Rino statue

Watching a Tiger sleep

Giraffes!!!

Katie and a Giraffe,
it's hard to get that kid to look at me when I'm taking a picture!

Katie seeing how tall she is compared to a gorilla

John comparing his hand to the size of an adult male gorilla

Abi is the same height as a juvenile gorilla
The Second time we went to the zoo they had a cats and cocoa event. They had a Tiger training demonstration, free hot cocoa and a craft. It was a lot of fun despite the rain and a bit of snow. We of course took time to see other animals too.
Rino!

Abi watching rinos!

Colorful BIRDS!!!

Tortoise, they are so big and slow moving but fun to watch!

Bats (and my camera flash)

TIGER TRAINING!!! It was very cool to see the trainer get the tiger to do things like show his paws or stand on his hind legs so she could check him out and make sure he is healthy. He got nice chunks of red meat as treats. Every one would ooo and ahh as when he was standing all the way up. It was AWESOME!

 Giraffes Again!!!

See its nearly impossible to get that child to look at a camera!

The gorilla is asleep under that sheet. When we first saw him we thought it looked like a
homeless person sleeping at the zoo.
I think standing by this sign will be something we have to do every time we go to the zoo!

Heres the girls with their craft they made, its a pine cone bird feeder!
We hung them and all the bird seed was gone in a couple weeks!

January Snow

With how little snow there has been this year I have really tried to get out with the girls every time it snowed. The girls love it so much it makes me wish we had more snow this year.

Abi is so happy to be in the snow

Katie catching snow flakes on her tongue

Making a snow man. Really it was me making the snow man.

The girls helped smooth out the edges of each ball.

Awe they love the snowman.

Katie either being protective of her snowman or holding it back from getting in a fight.

Once Abi noticed the face on the snow man it scared her a little bit.
