Christmas 2010

The Christmas season was so much fun this year! It was magical to watch Katie get excited about Santa and she even seemed to understand that Jesus is the real reason we celebrate.

We only saw Santa at our ward Christmas party, Katie didn't want to sit on his lap or even go see him for that matter despite being excited for him to leave her gifts. She finally decided it would be OK for her to go talk to him after seeing other kids had received treats from him. She stood next to him and shook his hand and told him she wanted cookies for Christmas and two dolls one for her and one for Abi.

The girls in their Christmas PJ's.

The cookies Katie helped set out for Santa.

Santa came! The girls got one big gift (a kitchen) and a couple small ones.

Katie showing her smarties (her favorite candy as of late but she calls them farties :) After Katie saw the kitchen she immiedetly wanted to cook somthing, we asked if she wanted to open presents and she said, "no". She is seriously so funny!

Abi got smarties too!

Katie checking out her stocking goodies.
Grandpa helped Abi open a gift.

Abi got a Mrs. Potato head. She loves potato heads!
A new baby doll for Abi.
Giving her baby loves.

Katie got a doll too with strawberry red hair. She has named her Dorothy, which didn't surprise me to much considering how much she loves the Wizard of OZ.
Our girls got many other gifts from family that they love, such as many books, fake food to go with their kitchen. It really was magical to watch our girls Christmas morning.
The rest of Christmas day was spent first at John's parents where the girls were spoiled. Then all of my family came to my parents and we enjoyed a crazy, fun, packed full household.

Katie gets her first hair cut!

Katie was born with very little peach fuzz. She was two before she had enough hair to put a clip in. Now that she's three we decided it was time to get her crazy hair evened out a bit in the back. Here are pictures from her experience.

In the waiting room.

Cute car smock!

The hair dresser had a mermaid brush that Katie loved, at the end of the hair cut she wanted to take it home and was sad to leave it behind.

You can't see the back very well but her hair was cut to her sholders and layered a bit at the bottom. That Katie is a cutie!

Some Random December Pictures

Yum Spaghetti!

One of Abi's favorite things is reading stories with Papa!

Tasty Yogurt!
Abi likes to climb on everything!
Gotta get every last drop!

Beautiful Katie!

We attempted pictures of the girls in their Christmas dresses, it wasn't easy.

John and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary. We went to Asian Star for dinner, it is one of our favorite places to eat. This is a picture of our Dragon shusi roll we had with dinner.

Abi ate a large amount of this apple all on her own.

Katie holding Lilly, Lilly is Aunt Aileens new puppy!

Abi found a hat!

Gingerbread House

Katie and I made our gingerbread house this year while daddy took pictures and looked after Abi. Katie enjoyed eating the candy as we decorated and licking the icing off her fingers. Abi liked the nerds candies more than anything else. As soon as it was built I let the girls begin to eat it and I helped plenty too. After 6 days it was demolished enough that I chucked the rest.

Katie Lady Turns 3!

Our little red head turned three the middle of last month. She is a smart, fun, strong, busy, loving, little girl. It has been amazing to watch her grow up and learn so much. She says some of the funniest and cutest stuff, such as while standing at the living room window watching it snow and singing I said "What a beautiful song!" She replied "I'm not singing to you, I'm singing to the snow." Also while driving one day she told John " If you see a dinosaur, turn!" This is actually one of her favorite games when we are outside on a walk or driving some where. She tells us there is a dinosaur and lets us know the color, green ones are mean but pink ones are nice and if she sees any other color we just have to turn. Katie is a great big sister, she always wants to play with Abi and will bring her into her play world, which is only a problem when Abi wants to be left alone. Katie tells us often, "I love all my family!" Her favorite foods are cheese, chicken, crackers, juice, and chocolate milk. As of late she prefers the color purple to any other. She will say her favorite movie is "The Wizard of Oz" and she also loves "Wall-E" but most any "kid show" aka cartoon she tends to enjoy.

Katie had 3 parties this year. One with my family and we celebrated my dads and my oldest nieces birthdays as well, one with Johns family, and one with some little girls from our ward. I have pictures of her Tinkerbell party with her friends.

Here's the kitchen all decorated.

The pull string pinata I made.

Katie's cake and cupcakes on the table.

Water bottle bowling was one of our games. The girls all seemed to enjoy it.

I printed some Tinkerbell pictures for all the girls to color

Abi enjoying some cake
Katie and her friends.
It was the first friend only party we've done and it went great! The group of girls were very cute! Little girl parties are fun!
