Jack turns 2 July 2013

My nephew Jack turned two and we had a party! He's just 10 months younger than Abi which is the same age difference as John and I. Mary brought a slip and slide and lots of cousins came! It was great fun!!!

The girls on the slip and slide and Jack opening presents.

Jack and Abi are such good little friends. They had a great time.
They played well into the evening.

John's Birthday July 2012

We had a small celebration of cake and decorations for John's birthday this year. The girls enjoyed helping with streamers and a poster. On his birthday I'm always so grateful he was born and that he's mine!

Katie lost a tooth July 25, 2012

We went over to our good friends the Hannon's to play for the afternoon. Katie was playing on the swing set, not swinging but climbing the chains of the swing. At one point she slipped and what I think happened is that the chain caught her tooth and pulled it out. She started crying and bleeding and as I was running toward her and her toward me she felt something in her mouth grabbed it and tossed it into the grass. It was like life turned to slow motion and I called out don't toss it as it was flying out of her hand. Ya that thing was her tooth. Once she was calmed down and had refused to go home (she wanted to stay and play despite the crazyness) we searched the grass for her tooth and never did find it. She was a brave little girl and it didn't phase her much.
Katie's new smile

John and Katie wrote a letter to the tooth fairy in hopes that she would still visit despite not finding the tooth.
She did and was quite generous I have to say.

We thought this was a good time to start talking  about Tithing and she was happy to pay
10% of her new income to the Lord.

And the other 90% was used to buy her and her sister ice cream at Arctic Circle!
It was sad for me as her momma to have her loose a tooth by knocking it out instead of having it fall out. It will be a few years before a permanent tooth comes in until then we will enjoy her new smile!

July 24th, 2012

Before Pioneer day was actually upon us the girls and I went with
my parents to the Day's of '47 float preview. It was so much fun!

My girls would make a tasty banana split :)

I loved that the people who made the sheep float let the girls get up and have a picture. Abi wasn't to sure about it. The Flyin' to Zion float was huge and very cool. I also loved the big spinning cupcake.

On the 24th we enjoyed both sunny and rainy weather and being together.

Playing in water July 2012

We spend summer in our backyard.

Playing in a big bucket of water.
More playing in the bucket and foot prints (Mine, Katie's, Abi's)

Abi finger painting. Outside in swim suits is the best place to do it. You just hose the kid down after :)

Night Gowns July 2012

I had seen a cute idea for pillowcase night gowns and decided to make up some for my girls. The night gowns were very easy it was getting pictures that was the hard part. They each took turns having breakdowns but in the end we got some cute pictures!

July 4th 2012

John and I have a friend that we have known since school days, Laren. In fact I've known him since elementary. He enjoys fireworks and lives near us and so when he invited us to his fireworks show we were happy to go.
We walked over with the girls in the wagon and enjoyed the show!
He had huge awesome fireworks. You could feel the small rocks and such rain down on you as the fireworks went off.

We enjoyed cookies and popcorn during the show. And somehow despite how loud it was Abi fell asleep.
They were awesome fireworks! We were so grateful for the invite. Can you believe all those fireworks!
This is the pile after they were all lit off.

We enjoyed celebrating the nations birthday together!

Fathers Day 2012

My husband is such a great dad. My girls love him, even though at times they get mighty moody with him. At church the primary kids sang and the chorister asked the kids to borrow a tie and or suit coat from their dads while they sang. It was pretty cute! We love you John!!!

Movie Night June 2012

Our girls love movie nights! especially when we'll sit down and watch the movie with them. Somehow we agreed on the care bear movie and the girls loved it. We pull out our big family size sleeping bag and all snuggle in. John and I may actually sleep during it or be playing on our electronics but the girls love that we are together.

Summer Mommy School June 2012

I decided I needed to make summer somewhat educational for my girls. I found this great LDS alphabet preschool curriculum and printed it off for the girls to work on 4 days a week. I also thought I should do some crafty/ art stuff, so I bucked up and let my girls finger paint for the first time. Yes the first time, I dread painting and play doh with my girls because of the mess that will likely happen but I got over it for a bit. I even made my own finger paint.
Getting ready to finger paint.
I wouldn't even let them squeeze the paint out of the bottles themselves.

Finger painting and practicing writing.

I had to post a big picture of Abi I love her lips as she's concentrating.

More finger painting outside. Probably a better place to do it as long as its not windy
