Back In The Day & Today

We have many pictures that we haven't done anything with over the years so here and there I'll share them with you.

This is John and I in 2006 at the top of Sugar Loaf. It was a great hike although I ended up burned to a crisp even with sunscreen.

Today was so warm out Katie and I went outside before her afternoon nap to play. I think she is the cutest in her sun hat.

Our weekend

Saturday Kristin and I hosted a baby shower for Rachel at her moms house. Her due date is May 7th but her Dr thinks it may come sooner. They didn't want to find out the gender I think it is a boy. Rachel is getting to the time where she is ready to have this baby, well I guess she's been that way for awhile. Katie was telling the baby to come out and play. Kristin made a really cute pacifier favor out of life savors and a jelly bean .

Katie loves being in her carrier with dad packing her. When she's tired but won't fall asleep John will put her in the carrier and walk until she falls asleep. There are some nights he will walk her a mile or two. Sunday early evening was so warm out we went for a walk and out she went.

Monday John got off from work early so we could go on a picnic and enjoy the warm weather. He brought along his one man tent which provided shade and a place for me to feed Katie. We also had his sleeping bag and Katie took a nap in the tent.

Food Glorious Food

Yesterday John really wanted to try giving Katie some cereal I had planned on starting her Saturday but figured it would be fine to start. She sat up so good in the high chair while waited for her cereal to be made.

We kept the cereal fairly runny and Katie opened wide for the spoon but once the cereal was in her mouth she didn't really know what to do.

So she just let the food dribble out of her mouth. She actually made a "this is gross" face but was distracted by the camera. I'll post a picture when she's a pro with solid food.

Faces

It is so fun to watch a little one grow up. To go from sleeping all day to being a strong little thing who wants to sit up and see whats going on. Lately Katie loves to play with faces. She really loves to grab noses. The problem with that is mom only clips her nails once a week and she can get sharp little fingernails. Katie has also started laughing when we fly her though the air. Dad can get her laughing better than anyone else.
Soon she will be starting solid food maybe in a week or two. Oatmeal is what she'll get to try first. Well She already gets pureed prunes mixed with milk everyday to keep her regular. But oatmeal will be the first thing she gets with a spoon. I'm excited to see how she reacts to eating with a spoon. I'm preparing myself for a future of very messy meal times.
