The newest "now legal" addition to our family.

Libbie!!! My brother Chris met his second half Katie just over four years ago. Three and a half years ago they got married and sealed in the temple, I love seeing them together. Katie has a beautiful daughter Libbie from a previous marriage, Libbie has been calling Chris "dad" since he and Katie were dating. Chris was able to adopt Libbie on March 31st it was an exciting day for my family. Chris is a great dad to his daughter. I love him and his little family!

Here's sassy miss Libbie!

Waiting in the hallway at the David Courthouse.
Pictured are my mom, sister Mary, sister in law Lawon, nephew Luc, and of course Libbie.

My dad, Abi, Luc, and Austin (Katie's brother son).

Chris, Katie, and their attorney.
I'm pretty sure they are getting Libbie's last name changed.

Libbie was sick of having her picture taken! A bunch of family that attended.

The "Legal" family! Yay!

Cousins! Genevieve, Libbie, and Katie.

We are all looking forward to Libbie being sealed to Chris and Katie. They are planning to be sealed at the end of the year after Katie's parents return home from their mission.

Melting down crayons!

I have been sick of broken crayons for awhile now. Every time the girls sit down to color crayons get broken. I decided I would melt them down and had seen more than a couple blog where people poured them into silicone ice cube trays. I wish I could have found a triangle shaped tray but I wasn't able to .
Here are our colors separated. As I melted them I separated them more making light and dark blue, green, and purple and also making pink and red. Katie and I broke the crayons into small pieces to get them ready for melting.

I used tin cans I had cleaned out. Four of them fit in the pan I used, also they kept each other from tipping over. Then I added water to the pan to make a double boiler type thing. Here the water is boiling but it didn't need to be that hot.

Here are my trays filled for the first time. Some aren't filled all the way because they are waiting for a second color to make layered crayons. Melting more crayons. Before picture

After picture. It didn't take very long for them to melt.

And here is the result. I did lots of layered crayons as well as many solid colors.

If I had a ton of a color or ran out of space in my trays I poured the melted crayon into a paper cup and ended up with four crayon pucks.
Lots and lots of crayons. The pink crayons have some gray/silver residue but I wasn't about to put the elbow grease into cleaning out the trays between pourings.
The girls colored with them as soon as they were dried and cool.If you do this I wouldn't use the trays for anything else because it leaves a residue that would take more work than I'm willing to do to clean them out. This was fun to do and Katie was able to help break crayons at the beginning and pop out crayons at the end. The girls love their "new" crayons.

Baby Blessing

On Sunday March 6th my nephew Spencer was blessed. It was fun to be with family for the day and celebrate the new addition to our family. For some reason I have more pictures of my Nephew Jack then anyone else I think its just because it had been a while since I'd seen him and he is getting so big and cute!

Gramma Nolan with Spencer.

Jack

Abi loved Aunt Tanya's piano and wanted to "play" piano the whole time we were there.

My brother, Uncle Jay and Spencer Jay.

My sis Mary and Jack

Jack and Abi they are about 10 months apart Abi was born Sept of 2009 and Jack was born July 2010. They will be in the same grade in school.

Party!

We attended a birthday party for our friends the little boy Issac. He is now one! It was space themed and a bunch of fun.

Kristin (the mommy) made this moon cake. It is super adorable, and it was yummy too!

I thought it was funny that he was looking right at me while Kristin was trying to get a picture.

We got to decorate cupcakes. Katie would decorate hers then lick it off and decorate it again. Here it has m&m's marshmallows and a star burst.

Issac thought the cake was yummy too!

Abi got down and crawled after Issac for a while.

Happy Birthday Issac! You are one cute little guy!

Abi is now 18 months old, she now is officially in Nursery although with my calling at church being in the nursery she has been coming for the last 6 months. Abi is a chatter box and knows so many words its amazing. She loves to play with baby dolls and is a good little mommy. She loves her Grandpas and will yell PAPAAAA when she wants one of them. She loves to play and wrestle with her daddy and thinks that he is much more fun than mommy but when she is sad or tired its mommy she wants. She loves her sister and calls her Kakie. I love that girl so much and look forward to seeing all the new things she learns to do!

Skirt and pocket softies.

There is an amazing blog called Filth Wizardry, it is a mom of two little girls and all the fun crafts and stuff they do. This is a copy of some skirts she made her girls with pocket softies sewn into the pocket.

Katie actually got this as a dress but the top didn't fit to well so I cut the top off and made a skirt. I used lady bugs from the top part to make the pocket softies.

Pictures from February

So this is the face Katie has started to give me when I'm trying to take pictures, it has been extra difficult lately to get a good picture out of her.

Going for a winter walk.

Katie coming after me with a snowball.

Daddy and Abi shoveling.

I don't know how to french braid but have been trying, although I usually give up and end up doing a twist like thing instead.

Kissy face!

The day after I posted about my new nephew my brother and his family came to visit.

Papa, Abi, and Spencer. Abi loved the baby and wanted to take care of him.
