Goin' to the Zoo Zoo Zoo May 30, 2012

We love the Zoo, and we love our zoo membership! Here's pictures from our visit in May.

The Giraffes were out and really personable this day.
I like how in the picture of just Katie the giraffe looks like its coming out of her head.

Its so fun to watch the elephants!

Abi rode a tiger on the carousel and then we saw a tiger sleeping.

The tortoise seemed to be really interested in us. The bats and the sloth just slept.
Abi loves the sloth, it's one of her favorite animals.

We enjoyed watching all the birds go by. I love how close they fly overhead!

We always have fun at the zoo.
Once one trip is over we are already looking forward to the next time we can go!

Crafting May 2012

I love to sew and I'm pretty much an amateur but long to get better, so when I heard about the craftsy block of the month which is a free class and quickly joined. The website Craftsy.com is awesome, it is a place where you can take online sewing, quilting, food, and other classes. Most of them cost money but a few are free.  I've always wanted to learn to piece quilts and quilt and thought this would be the way to do it. John got me quilting rulers for mothers day and I got started and my first two quilt blocks. 

My rulers, quilt blocks and a little bracelet purse I made for one of Katie's friends having a birthday.

Mid May one of my friends who has 3 daughters had her first son and so because I generally only get to sew and craft for my girls I got to work.

 I made a blanket 2 burp cloths and stenciled some onsies. 

Downtown trip/ City Creek May 25, 2012

With the new City Creek mall opening I wanted to go get a glimpse of it so we packed up the girls and took Trax downtown. I miss downtown, there was a time when going downtown to Temple Square Campus was nearly an everyday occurrence. It felt like home downtown, now its much rarer to go and spend time downtown for me although for John it still is nearly an everyday occurrence.

We ran to gateway to take care of some phone stuff and ate lunch there.

We walked through Temple Square. The Assembly Hall is such a beautiful building. It makes me  sad to see that tall building of condos behind it, they look awesome but I miss the Inn at Temple square. John and I spend part of our honeymoon there and our first anniversary. It makes me sad that its gone.

City Creek, we enjoyed the view from the walkway over main street.

We enjoyed the fountain at City Creek. And there's that building of condos again. Maybe one day we'll be rich and can buy a condo with a view of Temple Square.

Last Day of Preschool May 2012

Katie loved her first year of pre-school. She had two awesome teachers Miss Becky and Miss Lisa who are sisters and so fun!!! It was such a great year and Katie learned so much! But we were excited for summer to start so we could enjoy the warm lazy summer days.

 The girls love going to the local Elementary School to play on the playground. We love that we can walk there. It's a lot of fun to run and play and burn energy. 

Crazy Hair Day May 10, 2012

Genevieve's Baptism and time in Layton May 5, 2012

At the beginning of May we had the third baptism this year in my family. My cute niece Genevieve was baptized by her father (and my oldest brother) Jay.

 We loved being able to spend time with family. My girls have such great cousins to be examples to them!

After the baptism we headed to John's grandmas. She lives near my brother and so we couldn't miss a chance to visit her. The girls love Grandma Twila's big back yard!
