The Shirt Dress

What will these two old shirts of John's become you ask?  Dresses for my girls of course!

I found this tutorial for making a girls dress out of a mens dress shirt just before Abi was born. I used the basic pattern to make Abi's blessing dress...

It is such an easy tutorial to follow, in fact Dana the made blog author has so many easy and cute tutorials I now follow her blog regularly.
Katie wore her shirt dress for Fathers day, it was all ready except the hem.

Katie's finished dress

I got Abi's dress done too.
I  removed and replaced the shirt pocket with added lace I think  it added much cuteness to the dresses.

The back of the dresses
You can wear the dress while eating cookies!

 Or while doing summersaults!

I love these dresses so much I'll be making more!

Oh. My. Gosh. So stinkin' cute! I wish I was as talented as you. I can sew a straight line if I concentrate hard enough, but that's about it. What adorable dresses! Your girls look so cute in them! Plus...you're totally being thrifty by using John's old shirts which makes it ten times awesomer (if that even is a word). Seriously so impressed!
