August 2010 Scipio

The second Saturday of August every year is the Memmott family reunion. The Memmotts are on my mom's side of the family and they have a huge reunion for all the descendants of John and Thomas Memmott who were brothers that joined the LDS church in England way back in the day and then came to Utah with many other pioneers. Their families settled in Scipio, Utah and that is where my mom grew up. I have a feeling we will be much more involved with the reunions than we have been before as my mom has been made President of the Memmott family organization.

John and I were excited to go down to Scipio for the first time in a while. We don't have pictures from the actual reunion but we do other pictures from while we were down in Scipio. Enjoy!

My brother Jay and his son Luc. John went shooting with them on my Grandpas land on the North end of Scipio.

View toward the mountains.

Looking back towards the town. Can you see it?

My Great Grandpa Farr's old home. I think it's amazing it's still around.

We spent a lot of time playing in my Grandparents front yard.
Katie spinning.

John had a grass hopper on his hand.

Napping in the living room. Katie truly is her daddy's daughter (Look at the book she is snuggling).

We went for a short hike by Maple Grove Campground.

The end of more spinning.

Abi having bath time in the sink.

We had a great time and look forward to the next time we can go down to Scipio to visit.

August 2010 In the Mountains

We went for a hike early in the month to Cecret Lake. Katie hiked part of the way but also got carried on Uncle Bobby's or Daddy's sholders at times. Abi wasn't to sure she wanted to be put in the back pack carrier but she has learned to like it.

At the lake enjoying the outdoors, Abi was glad to be out of the carrier.

Little furry animal that wanted our food.

Uncle Bobby showing Katie how to take a picture.

Pretty flowers along our hike.

Katie went on her first backpacking trip with Daddy and Uncle Bobby at the end of the month. They went up the Uintahs and did a short hike to Ruth Lake and stayed one night. Katie loved everything from the tent to the fire and of course hiking. Abi and I missed having them home and were glad to see them when they got home.

All ready to go!

August 2010 Being with Grandparents and Playing at the Park

Our girls love their Grandpartents. The girls helped John's parents pick up pears that had fallen off a tree in their back yard. They enjoyed running in the grass and playing also.

My dad is constantly being begged by one or both of the girls to read them books, he's a good sport and reads the same books over and over.

We have spent some good time playing at a couple different parks. Here are a bunch of pictures of us playing.

There is a small park up the street behind the Army Navy Store, it has low playground equiptment that is great for toddlers. During this visit we had a picnic and played before heading home for naps.

Jack Ammon Merrill

On July 28th my nephew Jack was born. He is my sister Mary and her husband Mitch's third child. He is a cutie!
One day old
Ella and Connor are proud siblings.
Isn't he adorable!

In his blessing outfit.

I love his facial expressions!

John, the girls and I have all got colds so we missed his blessing on Sunday. I'm bummed we didn't get to go but I'd rather not pass around our germs. He is just about 11 months younger than Abi, I hope they grow up to be good friends.
