We went over to our good friends the Hannon's to play for the afternoon. Katie was playing on the swing set, not swinging but climbing the chains of the swing. At one point she slipped and what I think happened is that the chain caught her tooth and pulled it out. She started crying and bleeding and as I was running toward her and her toward me she felt something in her mouth grabbed it and tossed it into the grass. It was like life turned to slow motion and I called out don't toss it as it was flying out of her hand. Ya that thing was her tooth. Once she was calmed down and had refused to go home (she wanted to stay and play despite the crazyness) we searched the grass for her tooth and never did find it. She was a brave little girl and it didn't phase her much.

Katie's new smile |
John and Katie wrote a letter to the tooth fairy in hopes that she would still visit despite not finding the tooth.
She did and was quite generous I have to say.
We thought this was a good time to start talking about Tithing and she was happy to pay
10% of her new income to the Lord.
And the other 90% was used to buy her and her sister ice cream at Arctic Circle!
It was sad for me as her momma to have her loose a tooth by knocking it out instead of having it fall out. It will be a few years before a permanent tooth comes in until then we will enjoy her new smile!
